Every new AI chat forgot my project. So I gave it a folder that remembers.

I’m Michael. I’m Danish, I’m not a programmer, and I build this next to a full-time job and a family I want to be home for.

For four years I kept starting over. Now I talk my ideas into my phone, and Claude helps me finish them, one at a time. This page is the log.

What I said on camera in 2024

Good ideas were never my problem. Remembering them and finishing them was. So now I do three things, in this order, one idea at a time:

  1. Remember itI press record and talk. In the car, on a walk, before work.
  2. Test itClaude pokes holes in it. Most ideas get parked with a date. I don’t start them yet.
  3. Finish itOne thing at a time, in plain folders with one text file Claude reads first. A new chat doesn’t start from zero any more.

My decision log

Every decision gets one line in a log. On 9 October two AI sessions edited it at the same time, and six lines vanished. Now it’s one session in the folder at a time.

Same day, Claude read my yes to some website text as a yes to publish it. A safety check stopped it. Now it’s written down: yes to the text is not yes to deploy.

Why I’m doing this

I’m a storyteller, not a coder. I spent many years leading teams in retail. Since 2015 one sentence has been under everything I do: I believe in people. These days I add a second half: and I believe in AI.
